MENTORING

This unit standard coaches individuals in a business environment in order to improve their level of performance, thereby meeting the team’s required service levels. It is intended for Skills Development Facilitators, Supervisors, Team Leaders, Line Managers and people involved in Human Resource Management.

CREDITS: 3 - NQF LEVEL: 4

COACHING

This unit standard provides recognition for individuals who perform or intend to perform one-to-one training on the job. Formal recognition will enhance their employability and also provide a means to identify competent trainers or coaches.

LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT

This programme is intended for managers of small businesses, junior managers of business units in larger organisations, team leaders, supervisors, first line managers and section heads. It provides the background necessary to understand the management function in an organisation. The term “business unit” in this unit standard implies a small business, cost centre, section or department.

CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

Learners working towards this standard will be working within a Public Sector environment, specialising in Public Finance Management and Administration, where the acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to one's job. This standard will also add value to public officials who are seeking to develop a career pathway towards becoming an accomplished public finance management and administration specialist.

NEW VENTURE CERTIFICATE

National Certificate – The purpose of the NQF level 2 New Venture Creation qualification is to provide a qualification that can form the basis for structured programmes for potential and existing entrepreneurs to capitalise on opportunities to start and grow sustainable businesses that form part of the mainstream economy, enabling the learners to tender for business opportunities within both the public and private sectors. This qualification is designed for learners who intend to set up or have already set up own ventures. Assessment of the competencies and knowledge in the qualification needs to be done in the context of the learner's own new venture.

NEW VENTURE CREATION

Further Education & Training Certificate – In order to give effect to the above vision and framework, the qualification will have as its core purpose to qualify learners to be competent in consistently using a variety of technical, business managerial and personal skills and strategies in the creation and sustenance of added value in any product, process or system in any context. The successful learner will have developed a sound foundation for the application of these skills to explore a diverse range of entrepreneurial opportunities.

CONDUCT OUTCOMES
BASED ASSESSMENT

CONDUCT MODERATION OF OUTCOMES BASED ASSESSMENT

This unit standard is for people who conduct internal or external moderation of outcomes-based assessments. The assessments could be in terms of outcomes defined in a number of documents, including but not limited to unit standards, exit level outcomes, assessment standards, curriculum statements and qualifications. This unit standard will contribute towards the achievement of a variety of qualifications, particularly within the fields of Education Training and Development Practices and Human Resource Development.

END-USER COMPUTING    

The purpose of the qualification is to build the knowledge and skills required by learners in End-User Computing. It is intended to empower learners to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to operate confidently in the End-User Computing environment in the South African community and to respond to the challenges of the economic environment.

DESIGN & DEVELOP OUTCOMES-BASED ASSESSMENTS           

This unit standard is for people who design and develop assessments to facilitate consistent, credible, reliable, fair, and unbiased assessments of learning outcomes.
